How does IPTV work on a MAG box?

MAG boxes connect to a portal rather than using an app login. Your provider activates the box's MAC address on its portal, and you enter the portal URL in the box's settings.

Where is the MAC address on a MAG box?

On the sticker underneath the box, and in the box's settings under the system or device information screen. It usually starts with 00:1A:79.

Why does my MAG box say 'STB is blocked' or 'portal not found'?

Usually the MAC address isn't activated yet, the portal URL has a typo, or the subscription has expired. Check the URL and ask your provider to confirm the MAC activation.

MAG boxes use a portal instead of an app login. You send your provider the box's MAC address, the provider activates it on their portal, and you enter the portal URL in the box's settings. After a reboot, the box loads the channels and guide directly — no app to install.

Step 1: Find the MAC address

On the sticker underneath the box.
In the settings: open Settings → System information (or Device info, depending on the model).

MAG MAC addresses usually start with 00:1A:79. Send the full address to your provider — for us, via WhatsApp.

Step 2: Wait for activation

The provider adds your MAC address to their portal and sends you the portal URL. Keep it exactly as written, including http://, the port number and the trailing /c/ if present.

Step 3: Enter the portal URL

On the MAG home screen, open Settings (or press Setup/Set on the remote).
Go to System settings → Servers → Portals.
In Portal 1 name, type any name. In Portal 1 URL, enter the portal URL.
Save with OK.

Menu names differ slightly between MAG models and firmware versions.

Step 4: Reboot

Go back to System settings and choose Restart portal or Reboot. The box connects to the portal and loads the channel list and programme guide.

Common MAG errors
