IPTV apps for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

• GSE Smart IPTV — accepts M3U and Xtream logins and plays many stream formats.
• Several paid players on Apple TV offer a more TV-like guide; if you watch mainly on Apple TV, they're worth trying with your free test.

Setting up on iPhone or iPad

1. Install the player from the App Store and open it.
2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API (or Add playlist in GSE).
3. Enter any name, then the server URL, username and password exactly as we sent them.
4. Allow the app to load channels and the TV guide. Add favourites so the channels you watch are one tap away.

Watching on your TV with AirPlay

With an Apple TV or an AirPlay-compatible Smart TV on the same Wi-Fi, tap the AirPlay icon in the player to send the picture to the TV. Mirroring the whole screen also works but uses more battery and ties up the phone — a native app on Apple TV, or a Fire TV Stick, is better for long sessions.

Mobile data use

Streaming uses data in proportion to quality: at about 5 Mbps (a typical HD stream) that's roughly 2 GB per hour; 4K uses several times more. On mobile data, pick SD or HD versions of channels, or download nothing and stay on Wi-Fi.
