For smooth live sport on IPTV, make your device output the same frame rate as the broadcast — 50 fps for most European sport, 60 fps for US sport — by turning on match frame rate (or match content). Then set motion smoothing low or off, use a wired connection, and pick HD over 4K if your connection is borderline.
Why frame rate matters
TV is broadcast at different frame rates around the world: 50 Hz regions (UK, Europe, much of Asia and Africa) and 60 Hz regions (US, Canada, parts of South America and Asia). If your device outputs 60 Hz while playing a 50 fps stream, frames are repeated unevenly, which looks like judder — most noticeable on panning shots and a moving ball.

The screen may blank for a second when a channel starts — that's the TV switching mode.
TV motion settings
- Motion smoothing (Auto Motion Plus, TruMotion, Motionflow): try off or low; high settings can create halos around the ball.
- Picture mode: Standard or a Sports mode set not too bright.

- Medium or large buffer in your player to ride out small dips.
- HD instead of 4K if your connection can't hold about 25 Mbps during the match.
Big-match checklist
- Restart the device before kick-off.
- Pause downloads and updates on other devices.
- Open the channel a few minutes early.
- Keep a second version of the channel (HD/FHD) in favourites as a backup.
