For better IPTV sound, connect a soundbar or receiver with HDMI ARC or eARC, set your streaming device's audio to auto or passthrough so surround formats reach the soundbar, and fix any lip-sync delay with the player's or TV's audio delay setting. Surround only works on channels and films actually broadcast in surround — many live channels are stereo.

Connect to the TV's HDMI port labelled ARC/eARC, and turn on HDMI-CEC so one remote controls volume — see remotes and HDMI-CEC.
Device audio settings
- Fire TV: Settings → Display & Sounds → Audio → Surround Sound: Best available.
- Google TV: Display & Sound → Audio → Surround sound: Auto.
- Apple TV: Video and Audio → Audio Format: Auto.
- In your IPTV player, enable audio passthrough if it has the option and your soundbar supports the format.
Fixing lip sync
Audio ahead of or behind the picture is common with soundbars and wireless speakers.
- Try the audio delay setting in your player during playback.
- Adjust AV sync / audio delay on the TV or soundbar.
- Avoid Bluetooth for TV sound where possible.
- If only one channel is out of sync, it's likely the source — tell your provider.
