IPTV App Keeps Crashing or Won't Open? Try This

When an IPTV app crashes, freezes on the logo or closes itself, the cause is almost always on the device: not enough free storage, a corrupted cache, an outdated app, or a channel list too large for the device's memory. Work through the steps below in order — most people are fixed by step 3.

Step 1: Restart the device

Unplug it (or use the restart option) for 30 seconds. On Fire TV: Settings → My Fire TV → Restart.

Step 2: Free up storage

Low storage is the most common cause on streaming sticks. Aim for at least about 1 GB free. See free up Fire TV storage.

Step 3: Clear the app's cache

Settings → Applications → (your app) → Clear cache. This keeps your login. If that doesn't help, Clear data resets the app — you'll need to log in again, so note your details first.

Step 4: Update or reinstall

• Update from the store or the developer's site.
• If it still crashes, uninstall and reinstall, then log in again with your Xtream Codes details.

Step 5: Reduce the load

Large playlists with tens of thousands of entries can overwhelm older devices:

• Hide channel groups you don't watch.
• Use Xtream Codes rather than an M3U playlist, where the app supports both — it loads more efficiently.
• Limit EPG days if the app offers the setting.
