Yes — one IPTV subscription can be installed on as many devices as you like. What the plan limits is how many can stream at the same time, called connections or screens. A one-device plan lets one screen play at a time; a two-device plan lets two. If more screens try to play than your plan allows, you'll see a "max connections" error.
Installed vs streaming
| Counts toward your limit? | |
|---|---|
| App installed on a device | No |
| App open on the home screen | Usually no |
| A channel or film playing | Yes — one connection |
| Two TVs playing at once | Two connections |
So a household can have the app on the living-room TV, a bedroom stick and a phone with a one-device plan — as long as only one plays at a time.
One device or two?
| Household | Suggested plan |
|---|---|
| One person, or people who watch together | 1 device |
| Two people watching different things at the same time | 2 devices |
| Kids watching while adults watch the main TV | 2 devices |
| More than two simultaneous screens | Ask the provider about extra connections |
A two-device plan costs less than two separate one-device plans — see IPTV pricing.
Multi-room setup tips
- Same login on every device — use the Xtream Codes details on each one. See Xtream Codes setup.
- Close apps properly — some apps keep a stream open in the background; stopping playback frees the connection.
- Check bandwidth — two 4K streams need about 50 Mbps. See broadband for 4K.
- Parental controls on children's devices — set a PIN in the app.
"Max connections reached"
The full explanation is in what max connections means.
This error means your plan's limit is in use. Common causes:
- Someone else in the house is watching.
- An app on another device didn't close the stream.
- The login has been shared outside the household.
Stop the other stream, wait a minute and try again. If it keeps happening, the answer is usually a plan with more screens rather than sharing logins, which tends to cause constant errors.
Sharing a login outside your home
Most providers' terms limit use to one household. Sharing a login elsewhere counts against your connections and can get an account closed. If family elsewhere want to watch, a separate plan avoids the problem.
