You can record IPTV with an app that supports it — most commonly TiviMate Premium on Android TV or Kodi with a PVR backend — saving to the device's storage or a USB drive. Each recording is a live stream, so it uses a connection from your plan and roughly 2–4 GB of storage per HD hour. If your channels offer catch-up, you may not need to record at all.
Apps that can record
| App / setup | Recording | Where it saves |
|---|---|---|
| TiviMate Premium | Yes, from the guide or live | Internal storage or USB drive |
| Kodi + PVR backend | Yes | Backend's storage |
| IPTV Smarters | Varies by version and device | Device storage |
| MAG / Formuler | Model and portal dependent | USB storage |
Recording in TiviMate
- Connect a USB drive if your device supports it (internal storage fills quickly).
- In Settings → Recording, choose the storage location.
- In the TV guide, select a programme and choose Record, or start recording from live playback.
Storage needed
| Quality | Per hour |
|---|---|
| SD | about 1–2 GB |
| HD | about 2–4 GB |
| 4K | about 11 GB |

Connections
Recording one channel while watching another uses two connections. On a one-device plan, you can record or watch, not both — see using IPTV on multiple devices.
Catch-up instead of recording
If the channel has catch-up, you can replay programmes from the guide for a few days without recording — see IPTV catch-up and timeshift.
Good practice
- Record for personal viewing only, and check your provider's terms.
- Add a minute or two before and after, in case programmes run late.
- Delete old recordings to keep the device fast.
